How can we help save the lives of our pregnant and post-partum patients? What about doing more than just resolving their reported symptoms?
We can't wait for you to hear this conversation with Katherine Sylvester - she has spent her entire career challenging the status quo and pushing for better results for her patients.
After experiencing postpartum preeclampsia herself, Katherine began asking how wearable data could help women recognize problems earlier, advocate for themselves and make better decisions during pregnancy and postpartum. That eventually grew into Operation M.I.S.T. and her work helping women use their own data to better understand their bodies.
And that's just one part of this conversation!
We talk about:
👉 How Katherine's own postpartum experience led to Operation M.I.S.T.
👉 Using wearable data to identify concerning changes before they become major problems
👉 Teaching women to self-monitor and make data-driven decisions
👉 Why postpartum return to exercise needs to be individualized
👉 Her mission to reduce unnecessary C-sections
👉 Why we're barely scratching the surface of what pelvic PT/OT can do with scar management
👉 What happens when you stop complaining about problems and start asking, “What can I do about this?”
Katherine is bringing two completely new topics to the PelviCon stage this year: using data to address maternal mortality and better understanding and treating scars in pelvic rehab. We can't wait for you to learn from her!
