Business Ownership (Definitely!) Isn't For Everyone

Writer's picture: Nicole CozeanNicole Cozean

Often there's a rosy picture painted of business ownership, but the hidden reality is entrepreneurship is hard, anxiety-producing, and definitely not for everyone.

5 Reminders When Treating Chronic Pain

Pelvic PT Rising: The pelvic health tools to make you a better clinician and/or a more successful business owner. We want every single pelvic health practitioner to be more confident and successful in your practice and career!

  • Clinical Courses: Game-changing online courses to make you more confident, challenge your thinking and improve patient outcomes

  • Business Resources: Helping 500+ pelvic health practitioners confidently start, grow and build their dream business!

We firmly believe anyone listening to this podcast CAN start their own business, but just because you can doesn't mean you should.

There's a myth that business owners have unlimited time flexibility, financial freedom and wealth, and are sipping pina coladas on a beach on Wednesday mornings most weeks.

In fact, you'll confront all of your personal demons, deal with risk on a daily basis and sacrifice time with family, self-care, and a steady paycheck.

In this podcast we talk about doing an honest self-assessment. How are you with risk? What's your work ethic like? Do you have anxiety around finances? All of these will impact how you thrive as a business owner.

Are you ready to sacrifice from other areas (your health, time with family, relationships, fun, vacations) in order to build your practice?

Often there's a misconception - "I'll just see all the same people I was at my old job, but keep all the money for myself!" In fact, over a 3-year timespan you'll probably make LESS running a business (even if it's successful), and you're giving up on financial stability.

Starting a business is a big decision. It's not for everyone. It's not the 'next step' at some point in your career. And it's not just because you couldn't find a job you loved.

If you don't ever want to run your own business, we hope this podcast is validating!

And if you're considering it, make sure you've done some true self-reflection.

As Nicole said on the full 'sode of the topic...
